Mental Health Workshop Series

01
Understanding Emotions

Students build emotional vocabulary by completing a feelings check-in, creating their own feelings wheels, and practicing a simple breathing strategy.

02
Coping With Big Feelings

This workshop helps students recognize signs of stress and use simple tools such as breathing exercises, fidget tools, and drawing to regulate their emotions.

03
How to Ask for Help

Students identify trusted adults in their lives and practice asking for help through group scenarios and creating their own Help Shield.

04
Building Empathy

Students will learn how to understand others’ perspectives, strengthen friendships, and respond to peers with kindness and awareness. Through discussion and interactive activities, this workshop will focus on developing social confidence and emotional understanding.

05
Mental Health for All

This workshop will introduce age-appropriate conversations about mental health, helping students understand that emotional struggles are normal and support is available. The focus will be on reducing stigma, encouraging openness, and reinforcing the importance of reaching out when needed.

06
Summer Series

This three-part summer workshop series is currently underway at the Boys & Girls Club of 4S Ranch on July 7, 14, and 21. The first workshop, Grow Your Garden, encouraged students to reflect on the people, strengths, and healthy habits that help them grow through creative, hands-on activities.

Meet the Founder: Rhea Jain

Growing Strong Minds is a student-founded mental wellness initiative created by Rhea Jain, a high school student passionate about teaching emotional skills early. Developed as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Rhea dedicated over 100 hours to designing a hands-on workshop curriculum for elementary students.

The program is built on a simple idea: children should learn how to understand their emotions just like they learn math or reading. Through interactive workshops, students gain practical tools to feel more confident, self-aware, and supported.
